Opening Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for going to the midst of those who are harassed and helpless. You have brought forth healing according to Your will and extended helping hand to the crowds. You have even called people to follow You and be Your disciples, so as to know and fulfill the Gospel, so that many will see the glory of God. Oh Lord, I am willing to follow You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Jesus has healed the paralytic, the daughter of the ruler, the woman suffering from blood discharge, two blind men and a mute man. He has also called Matthew to be His disciple. The teachings and actions of Jesus were vastly different from the teachers of the law of that time, hence there were a lot of criticisms.

Why is Jesus different from others? This is because Jesus Christ is the Messiah that the Israelites have been waiting for, hence He has walked into every city and every village to tell the people not to use their old mindset to decipher the will and actions of God, for Christ has made all things new.

Jesus wants to bring to each of us a new life and a new lifestyle. Upon believing in Christ, a Christian should be transformed in his thinking and perspectives. Otherwise. It would be like putting new wine into old wineskins and both the wine and skins will be destroyed. Hence, Christians, after believing in Christ, should lead a new lifestyle in Christlikeness. Today, you are a Christian, are there any changes in your life and lifestyle? What changes are these? If not, what is the reason? What else is there that could not be changed?

Intercessory Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come before You right now in no other name, but the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. We want to pray for those who are homeless and needy. We ask of You to send Your Holy Angels into the lives of the needy and the homeless, and especially the ones that we are in contact with. Send Your Holy Angels to minister, to fight against spiritual enemies that are coming against them and guard them. We also ask You, Heavenly Father, to send people and particularly believers into the lives of these precious souls. Lord God, send good people into their lives to love them, to help them, to share what we have, and to share the message of truth, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We speak the blood of Jesus over the homeless and the needy. There is nothing You cannot do, God. We surrender the needy, the homeless in Your hands and we know that You love them, because You died for the homeless and the needy too. In Jesus’ Name, we ask and pray. Amen!
