Opening Prayer

Father, Your Kingdom is here, we’re able to experience the power and the reality of this kingdom in our lives. Give us faith to believe that You’re powerfully able to perform miracles and work in our lives. We operate too much in the natural that we forget You can do immeasurably more in the supernatural. Even though at times, it is hard for us to believe, may we offer what little we have so that You can work beyond our understanding. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Devotion

When was the last time you demonstrated your faith that it caused you to display the Greatness of God? Too often, in life, the attention is drawn to us in terms of our abilities and strength. We live in a society where self-sufficiency and self-determination are applauded. But we must remember that the Christian life is not about us. It’s about Jesus and what He’s able to do in order to fulfill His Purposes on earth.

As Jesus grew in popularity, we started to see more miracles and supernatural occurrences. Even those who killed John, the Baptist, thought that he was raised from the dead because of the miraculous things that Jesus was doing. But everything was pointing to Jesus.

Whenever Jesus saw a display of faith by people, He honored it by meeting their needs. Jesus demonstrated His power by performing miraculous feats. The compassionate side of Jesus was also demonstrated when there was a need. Jesus wanted to show that if people trust in Him, He would meet their needs. The feeding of the five thousand, Peter walking on water, and even the healing of the sick at Gennesaret showed this to be true.

Have you recently demonstrated your faith and trust in Jesus? Did you allow your doubts and circumstances to cloud your perspective of who Jesus is and what He’s able to do? May we know more of who Jesus is so that we can have faith to believe that He is more than able to work powerfully in our lives.

Intercessory Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, we cry out to You for the young generation! Please have mercy on them and guard their hearts above all else, oh God, for it is the wellspring of life. Let their hearts long for Your Words and pant for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Whilst the evil ones are everywhere looking for people to devour, please spare the young ones from all evil, especially the influence of the media on them. May the Spirit of Truth live among them, enabling them to discern and to lead a holy life. Your Words are a lamp to their feet and a light unto their path, guiding their direction so that they will no longer be lost. Restore their dreams, confidence and creativity. May they stand firm boldly and live in the truth uncompromisingly as they bear witness for the Lord. In the name of the Lord, Amen !
