Opening Prayer

Oh Heavenly Father, may You lead us to devise effective strategies for evangelism, so that we can reach out to more people. We ask that You grant us a heart to care for one another. May those who have not yet accepted Your salvation be filled with joy when they are in Your church, and to make the decision for Christ. Let them be touched to continue persuing a church life, and be a disciple according to the teaching of Your Word. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Devotion

Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, when He saw anyone who was harassed and helpless, He lent a helping hand. Jesus also sent out the twelve, He gave them authority and asked them to share the Gospel. Jesus reminded them that their journey will be filled with hardship, they will be rejected by the people, including their own family members.

However, Jesus urged them not to be afraid, for the Holy Spirit will grant them strength and wisdom, He will also teach them how to respond to the obstructions and attacks at hand. However, why did Jesus instruct the disciples to only share the Gospel with the Jews, and not to enter the towns of the Gentiles and Samaritans? This is the strategy of Jesus in sharing the Gospel. As the Jews were looking forward to the coming of the Messiah, the fact that Jesus is the Messiah is good news to them, hence they fully understood the significance. Today, we should first have strategies for evangelism, so that we can get twice the result with half the effort. The twelve disciples of Christ had participated in this movement. Are there still many serving today in the Church? What strategies do we have?

Intercessory Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, Your name is Holy. We stand before Your Presence, knowing that You are our Provider. We pray for those who are struggling financially, that You will provide for them. May they have the sustenance that they need for their daily lives and that they will see Your Abundance in grace and mercy. Prosper the works of their hands and may Your Favor surround them as a sun and shield. We pray that You will comfort them, provide for them, protect them, and be gracious to them. All glory, honor and thanksgiving belong to You. May Your Will be done here on earth as it is in heaven, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
