Opening Prayer

Father, we acknowledge that You are Sovereign over all the earth and especially in our lives. There is nothing that happens outside of Your Knowledge or Your Will. Therefore, give us faith to believe that everything that happens is within Your Watchful Eye. Instead of blaming or criticizing You, give us the perspective that we need to see Your Mighty Hand at work. Show Yourself to be strong through the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus Name, Amen!

Devotion

Do you know that we can see things that are to come by observing various indicators? Just think about when there are dark clouds in the sky. By seeing the formation of the clouds, we can predict that it will rain. Throughout the Bible, we see this to be the case. God gives us signs and indicators to know more of His Heart and His Plan for us.

In this passage, we see Jesus teaching the people that we are able to know what is in the heart of a person by the fruit that they produce. Only a good tree can produce good fruit. In the same way, a good heart that has been transformed by the Gospel, will produce the fruit of the Spirit. Therefore, we can see the signs of a person who is living for God’s Kingdom

Also, Jesus talks about the sign of Jonah, which was given to the Jewish people to remind them of the need for repentance. He also mentioned about the Queen of Sheba coming to hear about Solomon’s wisdom. These were all signs pointing to something greater, which is Himself, the Messiah.

What are some signs that God is using to speak to you? Maybe there is a situation that you are in where you need to trust in God or a sin that you need to repent of. God is patiently waiting for you to turn back to Him in repentance so that you can experience His Grace and Forgiveness once again.

Intercessory Prayer

Dear Father, we pray for the parents of children with special needs, seeking the Lord to give them the strength, wisdom, and perseverance to care for and love their children. We praise You, Lord, our Creator! These children are fearfully and wonderfully created. They may be different from most other children, but all children are the same to You. Your love and Your light will shine in their lives. You have protected them since they were still in their mother’s womb. We plead with You God, please change the parents’ perception of these children and let them see through God’s lenses as to how beautiful and unique their children indeed are! May God increase their love so that they can love their children selflessly. We also seek God to give Your children hope as their future is in Your hands. Your thoughts are so precious to them. The children are priceless treasures in Your eyes. You will definitely care for them every moment in each day of their lives. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
